`stuff that’s hard to do (well, harder than it looks sometimes)

Earlier this evening…

Launched & landed from/on good ol’ SLC-4, Vandenberg AFB, my early-USAF stomping grounds, literally (twenty-some launches over 9 yrs, ’70-’81). Glad to see the ol’ girl gettin’ some love again. The Soviets hated that place.

(What? Yeah, it’s amazing what they can do with CGI these days to discredit flat-earthers, innit? Now, explain to me why round-earthers would go to such conspiratorial lengths to do that. I’ll wait.)

Am I the only one that has a hard time seeing the connection between SpaceX and Tesla? Same ceo, inventer, capitalist, entrepreneur, but totally different outcomes.

SpaceX that learns from every mistake and very seldom makes it a second time. The leader in what they do. Their outlook is very positive.

Tesla that has ground breaking technology but seems to shoot itself in the foot at every opportunity. I see their long term outlook in the negative.

^ One is rocket science, and the other isn’t.

With rocket science, you don’t sell your product, you sell a service — to outfits with big-bucks at stake.

    No reliable service, no income.

Also, I’d venture a guess that the managers of these companies are significantly different.
