Gimmie!!! run screaming edition

Every homeless person in California would have a right to a bed year-round under a statewide “right to shelter” policy proposed by Sen. Scott Wiener.

The San Francisco Democrat [shocked, are ye?] announced SB48 on Wednesday, although key details of the bill — including how much the added shelters will cost, how they will be paid for and who will be responsible for ensuring enough beds are made available — will not be worked out until at least next year. [or the state has been bankrupted - whichever comes first]
SB48 — Sen. Scott Wiener

Cuz public housing always works out so well, generationally speaking...

Let’s not even begin to contemplate the 29,000 people “displaced” in the Paradise CA fire alone; remember the vast majority of the people burned out by the fires last year are still living “elsewhere“, from rental houses to apartments to RVs quietly moved around town to tents force-moved by cops and other people who don’t want tent cities in their back yards.

Kleptofornia already has the highest “homeless” population in the US [cuz we feed 'em] *and* is a Housing First state.

Housing First is a one-size-fits all approach that penalizes homeless programs that require sobriety and workforce training. It biases funding and programming away from vulnerable families and children experiencing homelessness and employs expensive and complex systems to triage and manage the homeless. While purporting to be evidence based, Housing First believes that transitional housing and comprehensive programming are ineffective in solving homelessness. It also denies the connection of poverty and addiction with homelessness.

Which state will be first to ask for Federal bailout money?
Pool is open!

Should be plenty of room for housing along the high-speed-rail’s right-of-way.

For those addicted, wouldn’t it be cheaper to give them enough to overdose than to give them housing?

I can’t wait to retire in San Diego. Everything will be free and it doesn’t snow.

First state to declare and dash for the Fed teats will be IL simply because CA is too stupid to know they are already dead men walking. Then CA will follow and the dominoes start collapsing though the dark horse could be HI winning by a nose.
