On Cudgels and Other Recreational Implements

hand me that pie, boy

Whoinhell would want to hear another single syllable from the kind of virtue-signaling, partisan dope who would pen such a phrase as this?

Since Republicans have completely caved to Trump’s craven exploitation of immigration as a wedge issue, the country, as usual, needs the Democrats to be the adults and put forward a realistic, comprehensive approach to immigration, which now requires two parts.

humor me and bear with just for the giggles of cognitive dissonence:

The first is a way to think about the border and the second is a way to think about all the issues beyond the border issues that are pushing migrants our way. You cannot think seriously about the first without thinking seriously about the second, and if you don’t, [things] will get a lot worse.

Perspective?

hm…

Regarding the border, the right place for Democrats to be is for a high wall with a big gate.

*jaw drop*

Democrats won’t do as well as they can nationally without assuring Americans that they’re committed to securing our borders; people can’t just walk in.

Recognition of the fact that “Secure The Border” consistently polls at around 85%+ ??!?

hm…

But the country won’t do as well as it can in the 21st century unless it remains committed to a very generous legal immigration policy — and a realistic pathway to citizenship for illegals already here — to attract both high-energy, low-skilled workers and high-I.Q. risk takers.

Ok – here begins the real discussion whether one believes in the abilities of those already here — Americans, not illegals — to carry on with the vigorous and innovative growth of the nation or whether we need a new, browner “high-I.Q. risk taker” infusion.

Considering the above was written By Thomas L. Friedman, Opinion Columnist for The Noo Yawrk Times, maybe now we can have that real discussion.

or, considering it was written on Nov. 27, 2018 … maybe we just quote it to annoy our local Proggies.

    Then again,
if America sucked as much as The Usual Suspects™ say we do,
we wouldn’t have an immigration problem.

^ I’ll make ‘im a graphic he can tweet

    Talked to the guy in the back of the surveillance van;
    and according to his notes,
I took less than ten minutes to do the graphic,
so it doesn’t need its own post.

“The first is a way to think about the border and the second is a way to think about all the issues beyond the border — issues that are pushing migrants our way.”

Okay, I think if we build a huge-mothering wall and chase out all the illegals who don’t belong here, all the social problems south of the wall will remain there!

But I still won’t vote Socialist Democrat.

^ Yeah, I’m curious as to how opening the border fixes any “[I]ssues that are pushing migrants our way.”

Oh, wait, these people don’t want the fix,
    they want the issue.
