    Actually, I don’t know the original occurrence of “astrogator.”
    The one I remember was in the last act of Forbidden Planet, as they escaped the planet; a compliment to Robby the Robot.

    i don’t know the origin either but “Forbidden Planet” came out in 1956, three years after “Starman Jones”
