double-reverse Resist! edition

Kleptofornia — particularly San FranFreakshow — where the bum The Homelesssss are King. Well, subject only to the One True King: the Bureaucrat. Which I guess means that The Homeless are A Prime Tool of the Bureaucrat.

Yeah. Nice.

Background — there are thousands of …’homeless’ in the Streets of San Francisco. One response of Teh Bureaucrat has been to make petty crime [under $1,000] legal and to make sleeping, begging, IV drug use, and pooping in the street legal. Yup: legal. Along with anything else you can think of. eww

To no one’s great surprise, this only increased the number of …’homeless’. Funny, that.

The only major income stream left in SF after the DiFi mayoral term is tourism. The hub of that tourism is the area around The Embarcadero.

Where do The Bureaucrats want to put a new 200 bed …’homeless’ “shelter” and “Navigation” Center? Yep.

Thing to know, is that any private entity wishing to build so much as a hot dog stand anywhere near there faces Bureaucratic demand for piles and piles of studies, design review, environmental impact reports, Commissions, Boards, etc, that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of time.

The city has argued that the project – a 200-bed temporary homeless shelter – is exempt from such reviews.

Slick eh?

Oddly, both the residents and the businesses in the area have some …concerns with this project. They think that drawing more of the …’homeless’ out of the downtown and into the tourist area might have an impact.

In a lawsuit filed against the city of San Francisco and the California State Lands Commission, the residents called for the project to undergo an environmental review before breaking ground.

“This project will have a significant effect on the environment due to these unusual circumstances, including by attracting additional homeless persons, open drug and alcohol use, crime, daily emergency calls, public urination and defecation, and other nuisances,” the lawsuit states.

Yeah. An impact. They’re already losing thousands of Conventions / millions of $$$$$$ because poop map app.

Kelley Cutler, the human rights organizer for the Coalition on Homelessness [said] “Methane emissions are bad for the environment, and this smells like bullshit.”

Aside; now, there’s a job title, eh? “the human rights organizer”??!?
and sooo …clever.

Thing is, there is no way of knowing how many of the …’homeless’ are the severely mentally ill individuals one sees having arguments with lamp posts and how many are the trustifarians who “just wanna live free (and be a junkie) for a while.” [ yes. that is A Thing]. There are indications that the widespread drug use is the cause of much/most of the mental illness.

Humanity has been unable -so far- to find a useful and humane way to help the severely mentally ill with dignity and respect. For most of Human History, until about a hundred years ago they would all die young of starvation or exploitation — still do in most of the world. Not the preferred solution of the Civilized West. Bedlam* ain’t it. Letting ‘em wander the streets ain’t it. Despite what the “the human rights organizer” thinks, helping them wander the streets ain’t it.

Everything except going armed to protect yourself from “The Homeless” or “Urban Youths/Freelance Socialists.” But not to worry; “The Police Will Protect You.” (Kate Steinle was unavailable for comment.)

Meanwhile, other cities are reducing their own problems by issuing free bus tickets to CA.
    (Hey, it could be true)

Maybe this shelter could be in the form of a big cage, like a zoo’s monkey habitat, where the residents can craw into caves to shoot up, swing on trapezes and sit in trees flinging their feces at the tourists. Advertise it as a monkey cage, charge admission and the curious, unwitting tourists might help pay for it.
