PrettyPrettyGavin Newsom Puzzler Edition

aaaaand There It Is!

Remember waaay back [last week ] when .gov PrettyPrettyGavin Newsom was speechifying and emoting for The People effected by the PSPS [PublicSafetyPowerShutoff] power shut-offs and the raging fires?

[Bloomberg] California Governor Gavin Newsom threatened a state takeover of PG&E Corp.

Really no reason to finish that sentence, is there?

“If the parties fail to reach an agreement quickly to begin this process of transformation, the state will not hesitate to step in and restructure the utility,” he said in a statement. “All options are on the table.”

All??!? Like restructuring the politicized, crony-ridden PUC?

And who is invited to this meeting? “PG&E executives, shareholders, wildfire victims and creditors“.

oops. Again, I note the lack of a PUC invitation… hm.

Newsom has encouraged others to bid on PG&E, including billionaire Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

…Some of Wall Street’s biggest names are battling in court for control of the utility, which filed for bankruptcy in January in the face of $30 billion of estimated liabilities from wildfires blamed on its equipment.

…A group of bondholders led by billionaire Paul Singer’s Elliott Management Corp. and Pacific Investment Management Co. recently won court approval to pitch their reorganization plan alongside that of PG&E and its shareholders. The bondholders have aligned with wildfire victims with a plan that sets aside billions more for individual fire claims and would virtually wipe out existing shareholders.

oh this is gonna be swell!

…the team will evaluate several possible scenarios for PG&E — including converting it into a state-operated utility or a “privately managed” government entity.

…He has also tasked his team to craft a blueprint on how to transform the company’s culture and operations that will be presented in the coming weeks.

Well, PrettyPrettyGavin’s plans seem pretty clear. Unfortuantely…

[SacBee]While he reminds audiences he’s been in office just nine months , Newsom’s stewardship of the crisis will be a key chapter in his political career. His determination, however, can’t erase the decades of financial and logistical missteps that have driven the utility to a breaking point.

*Somebody’s* running for POTUS…
*ptui*

Then again, with a spokeshole like this…

[Reoprter] “What do you say to people who just can’t afford to restock their fridges and are losing all this food they’ve had in their households after these shut offs?”
[PG&E President and CEO Bill (Steppin' on yer)] Johnson: “These events can be hard on people, really hard on people, particularly people who have struggles anyways and there are community-based things you can do, food banks, these kind of things. But for us, you know the main thing is we didn’t cause any fires, we didn’t, for these people we didn’t burn down any houses, the Kincade fire is still under investigation, I got that, but one of the things we did was give them the opportunity to actually refill their refrigerator ’cause their house is still there.

    “privately managed” government entity.

Isn’t there some system of gov’t where stuff like that happens?

Are you sure he’s running for POTUS and not chancellor?

PDT really went after Gavin Gruesome over the CA fires and how did Gruesome respond? Through demeaning PDT for not believing in GoreBull Warming..never mind GoreBull Warning has absolutely nothing to do with the state letting the fuel load get out of control and allowing access roads to become overgrown.

the main thing is we didn’t cause any fires … [for those who can't afford to re-stock their fridges] we didn’t burn down any houses … but one of the things we did was give them the opportunity to actually refill their refrigerator ’cause their house is still there.

    Gavin,
How many other states have to shut down power when it gets windy?
Are you going to find out why not, or are you just gonna keep on pullin’ fantasies out’a your butt?

yeah, and… Kincade did burn homes. And businesses [mostly wineries] which effect even more people.

sure, now it’s ‘under investigation’ but for the first three days TV showed footage from the NV earthquake measurin’ station that showed a PG&E installation, on a ridgeline, energized [as everyone else sat in the dark] go
