If we had a couple thousand deaths from Coronavirus I could understand the frantic actions of DeBlasio and Cuomo. Fact is we have a death rate that is the same for Coronavirus as the seasonal flu.

The panic is a political act. They are trying to grab more power and to get more federal money. The actual rate of infection is at least 4 times higher than the rate reported due to policies of the CDC and who should be tested for the virus. This just lowers the mortality rate further.

Worst of all this is that Cuomo has shut down the entire state when all he needed to do was shut down the City. Even then, the virus is everywhere already. Just as we cannot avoid the seasonal flu, the common cold and other viral caused illnesses, we are awash with all manner of infectious diseases and yet, we survive year after year.

I do not presume that we should ignore the Coronavirus. No, we should act to protect the vulnerable in our society but not act to instill nationwide panic. This is irresponsible and potentially dangerous. Worse yet, the government controlling our lives on a daily basis is a prelude to socialism on a grand scale.

“…gun/ammo shops to be safety and security essentials in this time of crisis!”
Absolutely right. All the newbies who don’t even know how to load their new guns have to guard their TP stash or a neighbor might get it …. or do they fear that Priztger’s government might declare it essential too and confiscate it under color of law and the barrel of a gun?
Might just be lots of libbies having second thoughts about big government fixing and providing everything. Bitter medicine, eh?

The panic may also be partly due to ass covering. Interesting bit of history, this. (Found at

We have the National Guard delivering groceries now. The helmet-haired Talking Heads and News Babes, coming to us live from their living rooms while they socially distance themselves and “poverty shame” the rest of us who don’t have TV star incomes, are telling us it’s because “the supply chain has been interrupted.”

“Don’t worry,” they say, “you won’t see them, because they’ll only be skulking around late at night. They’re just delivering groceries.”

Nothing to see here, folks. I’d tell you to move on, but you’re supposed to be sheltering in place, quivering in fear behind drawn curtains.

More like quivering in anger for me.
