Today, four days after a medium sized rally in the capitol protesting lockdown:

“In the interest of public safety and the health of all Californians during the COVID-19 pandemic, effective immediately the California Highway Patrol will deny any permit requests for events or activities at all state facilities, to include the State Capitol, until public health officials have determined it is safe to gather again,” the CHP said in a statement.

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

    My “inner subversive” thinks, Permit? We don’t need no sinking permits. That’s just the way the CHiPs fall. Junior Brown warned “I’m a-workin’ for the state, I’m a highway patrol.”

    First thought:
    You don’t like the Constitution? Then quit trying to change it or ignore it, quit trying to change me or attack me for what I do and believe, and get the hell out of the United States and leave me alone.

    Well, getting a permit was merely a courtesy, anyway, what with the 1st Amendment and all.

    If the CHP will not extend the courtesy then I guess no need for protesters to be courteous.
