    President announces the nomination.

Mitch says “Okay, we have enough votes, forget hearings, let’s just vote up or down.”

    Senate votes, nominee is accepted.

President says “That was fun,” announces six more nominees.

Senate approves. Court is now officially “packed.”

It warms the cockles of this old heart to see our President working so hard to keep his Democrat colleagues happy like that.

If any of these “representatives” in DC have actually been doing the job they’re paid for, they would have gone over the bona fides of several potential candidates many months ago. That Ruthie was on her way to assuming room temperature was a given more than 2 years ago. Like a committee couldn’t come up with a “100 questions” list any prospect would have to answer in advance? After that it’s pro forma. So yeah, nominate, vote, install. Git ‘er done.

As for the packing, I’d rather see a new amendment limiting the size of SCOTUS to 9. Throw in term limits for reps too, and a 15 year job cap for non-military Grade-X and above gov employees. Thanks for your service, now go away forever, and no, you can’t now be a lobbyist for another 15 years.

I had to hit the link before I believed this absurdity. Great idea. Maybe the house Dems should join the boycott to show solidarity?

Well, if the Dems want to boycott the hearings, then Cocaine Mitch can take Rush Limbaugh’s suggestion and just belay the hearings and go straight to a vote. Simple.

(I read that the hearings aren’t even a defined requirement, just something that have become a bad habit.)

California is just a few years away from being a third world country.

I wonder who that airhead governor will blame? Republicans?

    Yeah, that’s the ticket.
