  1. We can imagine the conspiracy theories if it had been only FOX news with footage of a raid on the Clinton household. Think we’ll learn how CNN managed to be on site at Stone’s home?

  2. Remember the CNN crew being live at the scene when the FBI shot LaVoy Finicum to death in cold blood in that Oregon ditch?

    Yeah. Me neither.

  3. FBI + CNN = collusion?

    Hmmm… Ps fodder, that.
    (see post above)

  4. It’s newsworthy because it’s the first (and probably the last) arrest after two years of “investigation”.

  7. I heard on the radio that the cub reporter covering the event said that the FBI vehicles came with sirens blaring, except they were silent sirens. (?)

  8. ^2: Try to get your facts straight. The FBI didn’t shoot “LaVoy”, it was OSP. I live here; you obviously don’t.

  9. ^ Good point.
Now, can we all agree that it’s fortunate that the ATF wasn’t involved?

  10. ^8

Forgive me max, i didn’t realize i had to live in a state to know what happened there. Perhaps, since you live in Oregon, then you trust the OSP jumping to confess to the shooting at the trial of the FBI agents but here in Minnesota, we’ve grown a bit more skeptical of the federal government and the coercion they are capable.

Not being from Minnesota, you won’t be able to understand the term “take a fall”

    Anyway, Go Ducks

  11. So this young cub CNN producer receives Divine Inspiration on Thursday night at his recently converted broom-closet-to-producer’s-office that the Forces of Goodness are going to take down the EEEVILE! Mister Stone at his undefended home IN FLORIDA!

Stone has no registered weapons in his home, no death-sworn bodyguards, no heavily armed allies to come to his rescue. All his communications have been compromised by the on-going Federal assault on him. He has no secrets, and thanks to the gummint, no funds to effect an escape.

So in order to round up this obviously dangerous old man, the Feds sent 29 heavily armed storm troopers in 17 government vehicles with automatic weapons and body armor, just in case.

Oh yeah, and a film crew from CNN that just miraculously happened to be on-scene.

I’m surprised that it didn’t end up another Ruby Ridge.

  12. Oh, one more thing: is it just coincidence that this raid happened in time to make all the news cycles on a Friday? Three days to build on it, mix it up, let it fester before anyone begins the in-depth analysis on Monday morning?

    Comment by MikeAZ — January 26, 2019 @ 8:10 am

  13. [and did the FBI really think Roger Stone was gonna come out gunz a'blazin?

I think they were hoping for that.

  14. And as I’ve seen elsewhere this morning: “When you stop thinking of the FBI as a law-enforcement organization, it all starts to make sense.”

  15. ^ Made-for-TV cast in the never-Trump reality show, too.

  16. ^10 – no problem, I just live here, and know what happened…and what did not.

  17. Not to say this individual isn’t a gen-yew-wine Rat F*cker and all ’round fixer, dangerous fella, and a bit of a …well, the whole Nixon tat and all…

But the drama in the FBI’s approach? The playing to the cameras which means the politicizing of the event. Neither goes very far toward making me more comfortable as a citizen in a 5 felony a day society.
