  1. When my wife and I had different political views we would cancel each others vote. Never got this serious. After she grew up a little she saw that I was right.

Wasn’t it Churchill that said “If you’re not a liberal in your twenties ,you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative in your forties, you have no smart”.

  2. The conservative voter was in the wrong here.

He leapt in front of his ex’s SUV to try to prevent her from voting democrat. He was still having emotional issues about his separation, and felt ( erroneously ) his ex was trying to cancel his vote.

He needs a jail sentence for interfering in an election once he gets out of the hospital. And he should also be billed for cleaning his own blood off the underside of her rig.

  3. Kristophr’s right in principle, but maybe not in practice. It appears that politics has become waaaaaaay to serious.

(But can I be forgiven if I snicker a little anyway?)

Assuming he recovers, Radle should be given a Jackass Award for trying to tell his ex anything, much less how to vote. Otherwise, there’s the Darwin Award, although the winners of this dubious recognition are usually a little more creative in finding their difficulties.

“These crazy liberal nuts are always pulling this crap…” Eh, you two are not really poster boys for conservative sanity, are you Mike?

Of course the politics in this entire thing is just a surrogate for more basic domestic difficulties, which I guess all of us would have thanked them to keep away from the polling place and the national media.

  4. It doesn’t say if either of them made it to the polls…LOL!

  5. Here’s a nice liberal spin on this incident that I just made up:

In the ongoing Republican Conservative War On Women, the score is:

    Women: 1
    Conservatives: 0

(Or: “I am woman, see me roar drive.”
Or: “Do not fuck with the woman in the SUV.”)

  6. The car weighs 3000 pounds. It’s the Law of Gross Tonnage in action.

  7. Yeah, Sondra, ^^^ I did wonder if he had managed to prevent her from Casting the Wrong Vote, a benefit possibly negated by not getting there himself.

  8. Another casualty of “stand your ground” laws.

  10. Here’s an example of the mind set in this part of the country—Posted By Debbie Stapintheback of Mich.—- The Republicans have voted to double the interest payment on college loans—-
    The 1% has won again.
Republican party—– Of the money–by the money— for the money— How can the middle class be so foolish not to see this?
So this happening in Wisconsin doesn’t surprise me at all— we are on the Wisconsin boarder and I think some of these people would love to vote in Wisconsin—

  11. It’s a *NEWS REPORT*. That means several things about it are wrong, by definition. I wouldn’t draw too many conclusions.

  12. What Kristophr said.

Contra the brother’s “These crazy liberal nuts are always pulling this crap,” I say that the “crap” and “crazy nuts” part is trying to block her car repeatedly.

Both in general (that approaches kidnapping or false arrest or some equivalent charge by preventing someone from being able to leave of their free will) and especially to try and prevent a vote one dislikes?

    Shame on him.

  14. It was interesting to see that the story read that the woman hit him with the SUV and not the the SUV hit him. Or was it just a journalistic mistake?

He is a knothead for arguing with a woman behind the wheel of a large vehicle, but she still pressed the gas with her own foot.

As was said earlier^^ they already had significant problems in their relationship and problem solving skills. This was just the latestl result, not a cause.

  15. One of them wanted to spend more and the other wanted to control the spending. Simple as that.
