  3. Does anybody know if the Gummint publishes figures for the number of employed? I haven’t found it so far. It would be easy, though: just go through the IRS returns.

    It would be instructive to have those figures, quarterly, for the past 20 years or so.

  4. Capitalism is so hard for people to grasp because it asks you to LET GO. It works best when it’s not strictly controlled. People fear that more than death, which is why *every* generation has to learn it over again, usually badly.

    Communism keeps burning people out because it’s like someone burning to death on an island in a lake because they’re more afraid of water than of fire.

    Also, that chart is annoying, because the baseline is in the middle of the range. If the baseline was 0 and not 24, it would be more honest and less shocking (but still shocking). I hate misleading charts.
