It’s off the subject, but I expect everyone has noticed how Facebook shares are doing.
I didn’t want make too much of it going in, but the whole thing had the feel for me of a number of big deal IPOs late in the dot-com era, where the IPO was massively hyped, but the stock price didn’t exceed the IPO price for more than a day or two, if that.
And of course the privileged ones with low in prices were busy unloading on a naive retail public.
Retail enthusiasm would run it up for maybe a few days, at most; but then the price would crater.
Don’t know where FB is going from here, but I think there’s a real chance that it may have already peaked in valuation, and perhaps revenues as well. GM walking away could well have been the harbinger of things to come.

Thanks for the mention, DougM! I’m hoping that a better job of “vetting” is done this time around, although Barry should have been neutered a lot sooner; he’s already peed on everything at the Whitehouse.
