mech…it’s right on the joists and is a bit loud but seein’ there’s a loft in the fore ground right about where the pic begins it doesn’t matter much. The walls and ceiling are way insulated though so you can’t hear anything outside except the frogs at night. Super nice when it’s storming outside:-)
Claire…the colors kind of just developed…the curtains are two toned and the blend everything so nicely. I love them. That couch ensemble is freaking awesome…there’s a chaise on the end you can’t see and we should be getting the big giant huge ottoman any time now. It’s so soft and sturdy and made in America too, so there’s that!
The previous owner left a ton of crap ( 5 fucking matresses ICK…I made my realtor get rid of them) but the table is solid wood and perfect so we kept it.
Trying to decide if I should paint the lamp matte silver…..but it does blend the curtain rods and door knobs and rebar spindles painted black on the stairs and around the loft.
Should be finishing the buffet too…JR’s doing something now and then the copper….:-)
THEN wait until you see what we did for the clawfoot tub bathroom…omgomgomg!!!!!!
more later…off for a bike ride wheeee…

You’d play hell gettin’ me off’n that sofa.
Yeah, there’s my weight thing; but I’m thinkin’ more along the lines of homesteadin’.
Needs another light on the other side.
Perhaps a sconce.
(What? Hey, knowing’ what a sconce is doesn’t make me internal-decorator gay.)
Yeah, mebbe a nice, brass-lantern kind’a sconce.
(What? No I’m nooot! Shaddaaap!) [slaps at imaginary friend vewy woufwy]

“ooooooooooooooooooo……… I wanna curl up on that couch with a good dawg and a good book.”
Me, I’d prefer a Bad Girl and a good movie, but hey.
When I first looked at the picture I tho’t you had painted the lamp. Is that another picture we’re not suppose to know about? What fun!!! Thank you for sharing.
I think the amp is fine. The shade could be bigger though.

Niiice.
I like the exposed joists in the ceiling. Is the floor above directly on them or is there a buffer to reduce the sound of footprints above?
Not such a big problem since it is all your place and you don’t have neighbors with castanettes dancing above.
That warm looking window sill needs a kitteh stretched along it, if only for bear watch duty.
Oh, look. A lamp. =)

I looked anyway. Really pretty, except for that silly lamp.

Wow, it really lightens up the place…it does this because it’s a lamp.
Seriously, the place looks great. I’m really glad you got it.
BTW, here’s my summer cabin on wheels. Parking with the big boys!

It’s PERFECT— the pillows go with it. The corner needs a cardboard cut out of Obama. Oweee— that hurt!!!

Love it! Is the little square on the table a coster or an inset piece of glass? Either way the placement is perfect, and beautiful.
Comment by katzemeow — July 1, 2012 @ 6:00 am
Yeah, a little bigger, to be proportional.
Maybe something in wicker?
Just my $.02
