I woke up this morning to find out that here in MN the frakkin’ Libs took the state house AND senate last night. Nice addition to Frikkin Gov Dayton. Crap. This week is just getting better and better. The “one man, one woman” mariage amendment went down. Voter ID did not happen. WTF? At least we didnt legalize pot…. OTOH maybe that might have been a good thing to get my mind off reality.
My home child care business has a huge freakin target painted on it. (Long story) The only thing in my favor was that the dems did not have the legislature….until now.
My ass hurts.
Now entertaining options of any republican state left to move to.

May I suggest Alabama? My property taxes last year were less than $500. We’re not all stereotypical, cud-chewing rednecks down here. If you prefer a more high-tech climate, try the area around Huntsville. More PhDs in Limestone County than any other US county (or so I’m told).
Mojo @ 8 “Why is the Champs Elysee lined by trees?”
Because the Germans prefer marching in the shade.

The lights have gone out in America now. They may come back. They may not. It’s up to us. No one is going to come help us do it. Other countries have America. We have ourselves.
. . .
Revolutions are not born out of success, they are born out of despair. They rise out of the dark hours of the night. They come from the understanding that all the other options are running out. Sometimes you have to fall down to rise and sometimes you have to hit bottom, to gather one last breath and fight to reach the top.
This is still a wonderful country. It is the finest place that this civilization has produced. Despite the events of the last day, it is worth fighting for.
