  3. A farmer tends his crop. He cultivates and sows and weeds and waters, drives away vermin and prays for fair weather.

And then when it ripens, he cuts it down to serve his own purposes.

Those bastards are all farmers now, and we’re just a crop.

  5. Define Middle Class? Is it a matter or annual income? Or morals, education and common sense and proper child rearing? If a Frisco couple who never married, parade naked on the streets, do drugs but make over $200,000 a year middle or upper class?

Know what? Anyone who even uses the term *middle class* is a trip-wire certainty to be SCUM!

Me? I am the world`s greatest fighter pilot and The Porch are my mates. You badmouth them at your fucking peril!!!! And, I have NO class……..

  8. mojo (#2): What some people do speaks so loudly that we can’t hear what they’re saying.

COL Jerry (#5): That’s a good question. One sense of “class” is the degree of civilization present. Great Britain (before it became Formerly Great Britain) put a lot of store on “class”. (One could be a gentlemen and a cad; “gentleman” meant you came from a good family and had property and an income (and maybe a Title). That was no barrier against your being a rat.)

Our sense of “class”, as in “lower”, “middle”, and “upper”, seems to be defined by your wealth. Still, as then, wealth is no guarantee of character.

Not too long ago, there were “blue collar” and “white collar” jobs.

Yet again still, I defer in all things (mostly aeronautical) to the world’s greatest fighter pilot. (Well, maybe next to MAJ GEN Charles Elwood Yeager (USAF, Ret).)

  9. You can if you’re a crass hypocrite whose ideology is driven by your identity and not by any facts or conflicts between your positions.

This contradiction will disappear from public discourse as soon as the Left’s need to get elected disappears. The words only exist now as meaningless placeholders in the empty rhetoric of the power-acquisition phase. To the intellectually dishonest, this contradiction (even irony) is ignored, since it’s very existence will be removed when history is rewritten. The ultimate morality of “the ends” justifies this cynical “means.” To them, it’s an inside joke. To everyone else, it’s an insult, although a large portion of the public don’t recognize it as such. Yep, every day … ev•er•y. frik•kin’. dayyyyyy !

Doublethink: a word coined by George Orwell in the novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four,” describes the act of simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct, often in distinct social contexts. It is related to, but distinct from, hypocrisy and neutrality. Its opposite is cognitive dissonance, where the two beliefs cause conflict in one’s mind. Doublethink is an integral concept of George Orwell’s dystopian novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four“. The word doublethink is part of Newspeak.
