  1. Before we get all excited about shit, (maybe too late) we need to calm down and have a look at this compiled from local news video and scanners in the area of the CT massacre. There is much more going on here, just like the other mass shootings.

There are several compilations of roughly the same thing from different people in the area. We cannot trust the media narrative. There were by most independent local accounts three shooters involved. Call me crazy of what ever you want, but please take the time to watch this:

  2. While not in Israel’s danger of imminent assault, Switzerland has similar gun policies and a very low crime rate. There’s a full auto rifle and ammo in almost every household, and the last time I was there, about 20 years ago, seeing some young people walking around with their rifles was no more noteworthy than if they were carrying chainsaws or a toolbox.

    More of my pop psychology:
Boys being boys is now tamped down by parental and pussification pressure, including powerful drugs, and I wonder if by suppressing their natural energy, boisterousness and urge to test and explore, we inhibit a natural, gradual process of maturing and learning by hard knocks and thereby leave them wanting when they finally have to confront reality near the end of their school years?

  3. Switzerland has the same lack-of-problems. Most every man serves and belongs to the militia and is required to keep guns at home.

  5. There sure is a lot of conjecture on why a lunatic went berserk. It’s like trying to understand the mind of a spider and a waste of time.

  6. Interesting article. Nice snapshot of Israeli gun laws, misrepresentation in our “Press,” and the summation of that with the “polite society” idea, and then the real summation: Mental illness needs to be addressed. Is the “ADHD” label an dispensing of drugs the way to handle the problems of un-feminine behavior?

Is it possible that hatred and mocking of our heritage and God NOT the keys to a healthy and successful culture?

  7. Politicians and administrators have spent the last (at least) fifteen years making sure that there are no guns or weapons on campus. (“Oh, look! Johnny’s drawn a picture of an L-shaped object! Call the SWAT team!”)

They’ve done such a marvelous job of this, and never considered that the shooter would come from off-campus. What makes a schoolyard a magical place where logic and reasoning no longer apply? Where the mere presence of a sign will stop someone bent on evil acts?

I say “never again!” should a teacher/principal have to go charging out to confront Evil on the school grounds bare-handed. Heretic that I am, I do believe Evil exists. It cannot be legislated out of existence, it cannot be reasoned with, and it cannot be regulated. It must be confronted, quarantined or destroyed.

We give them the responsibility of the safety of our most precious possessions, then refuse to give them the tools to do it with. They need something better than the promise of “the police will be here soon.”

Do I sound like a grumpy old grandpa with elementary school-aged grandkids or what?
