The Washington Monument Strategy… if Interior has to make any cuts, it will cut what the people use and enjoy the most to punish them, namely parks and monuments. At the local level, it is always education and first responders. Even The Washington Post has noticed the ploy:
What this means is that whatever the level of damage across-the-board would impose, we can expect the affected agencies will try to make the damage look as high as possible.

When smooth-talking marxist Mark Warner became governor of Virginia he said that he had to cut back service at the Department of Motor Vehicle offices, among others. DMV services are fee-based so it wasn’t about the money. Same thing here. Hurt the taxpayers, not the government drones. Use the press to cover your malfeasance. “Oh, we had to burn the Constitution and Declaration of Independence to heat our offices…”
Now teachers are worried that Fed money to local schools will be cut and teachers will lose–but the Dept. of Education will still staff their wasteful phoney-baloney “work” and their indoctrination programs.

“That’ll get those right-wing clingers on board”
It was all going to happen anyway so now he/they can blame the evil rich white man . When he/they all have theirs and their fathers dreams come they can walk away with their pockets full and say tough shit suckahs—-and the evil rich white man is running around with his finger up his arse saying WTF just happened?

A few years back, we had a state government shut down in Minnesota. Places like state parks and highway rest areas were immediately closed up. SInce there was no one at the parks to police the area, some people just camped out anyway. Anyone who would normally be there to collect payment had been sent home. I would guess travelers used gas station toilets. Who here on the proch has not peed in a cornfield or on the side of the road? Don’t tell me wimmen can’t do that. I’ve seen it done.
Shut it down. What fears them most is it will take a lot of us quite a while to notice.
If a terrorist attacks or a freed border-jumper commits a crime,
these traitors will be responsible.

Federal budgets (…which we ain`t had for years…) are, by design, planned to increase by some percentage in the next fiscal year. DHS planned for 8%. Sooo, being reduced by 5% means an INCREASE of 3 fucking %!!
If DHS got by on their budget last year, why can not they get by with the same budget PLUS THREE PERCENT this year???????
This is Bullshit!

Releasing the illegals to coincide with carefully choosing cuts to important functions, rather than the waste, is all about making the story fit the narrative.
Just like Fast & Furious funneling US guns to Mexico, if the facts don’t fit, make the facts.
It’s not like the media, except maybe Fox or Drudge, are going to report the truth rather than the narrative.
Hell, even if they did, the majority of Americans have proven themselves too dense to “get it.”
….If you have 5,000 fewer border patrol agents, you have 5,000 fewer border patrol agents…
Incompetano just said 1 = 1. What Churchillian oratory!I
^^ Sondra (9) What you said and I hope He Whose Name I Will Not Say has a stroke and Moochelle has to put up with a drooling jellyfish for the rest of their lives.
I may have to rethink that – a drooling jellyfish would be an improvement….

What pisses me off to no end is that our business has taken several hits since December and our income is way down. By tightening out belts and GASP! cutting our budget here and there we have made it through and things are looking better now. Our income was down a hell of a lot more than the two pennies on the dollar we are asking these assholes to “cut” from their INCREASE and we did not piss and moan like they are.
Just heard that He/they do not have anything to do with the release of the prisoners and that’s the truth—there’s no money because the evil rich white man won’t pay more taxes so it’s their fault. Don’t blame them.

Hopefulone @4: “Hurt the taxpayers, not the government drones.”
I work for DOD. If sequestration hits, I get to take Fridays off with no pay for the rest of the fiscal year (i.e., mid-April up to 1 October). That’s a 20% pay cut.

“I dont think we can maintain the same level of security at all places around the country with sequester,” Napolitano said…..
I guess that means they’ll have to let the Secret Service guys go.
Democrats will always tell us that unless they get to raise taxes, they’ll have to fire policemen and firemen and teachers and doctors and nurses. Jerry Brown told us just about that when he was campaigning for Prop 30. (We believed him.)
But there’s enough waste and fraud in the government that if they closed those “loopholes”, we could go a long way to closing the deficit:
