  2. Cash sales would work for a while, but then there are the surveillance cameras, which no doubt will soon be linked with a transaction at the register and the inventory sold.
    Besides, I have no doubt the drones are working hard to outlaw cash and go to electronic transactions only.

  4. Companies would be given new authority to monitor their users …

    Of course, the companies could also say thanks for the authority but no – we won’t be spying on our customers.

    More than enough evil to go around here.

    (Now mind you, if a company, like anyone, becomes aware of a genuine threat by legitimate non-snooping means, they still have the moral duty to do what’s necessary to head it off. It’s the everybody-gets-to-snitch-on-everybody-else part that gets to be frightening.)
