  1. Re-igniting my love for the open road next month. 14 hours to Mississippi. Why? Because I can, and a blues festival. But mostly because I can.

  2. Oh, and dang you, Claire! Qui bono? I had to look that up. I don’t come here to LEARN stuff!

  3. More trying to convince the peasantry that they’re basically too incompetent to be trusted with freedom.

The Constitution doesn’t give rights, it recognizes and protects the ones we’re born with.

The constitutional justification for the FedGov regulating “public accommodations” (even private businesses, even totally within a state) was to assure the rights of Jim-Crow-era negroes to travel and to cross state lines; i.e. freedom of independent movement is a friggin’ right, not a dagnab privilege (reasonable regulation for health & safety is allowed, so is denial via adjudication).

Has Bernie called for free driverless cars, yet?

  4. Cue song
    “In the Year 2525″
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
    In the year 3535
Ain’t gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
    In the year 4545
You ain’t gonna need your teeth, won’t need your eyes
You won’t find a thing to chew
    Nobody’s gonna look at you
    In the year 5555
Your arms hangin’ limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin’ to do
Some machine’s doin’ that for you
    In the year 6565
You won’t need no husband, won’t need no wife
You’ll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube…

The combination of the exponential march of technology and the non-stop nibble nibble nibble of Progthought will bring that nightmare run by elites, maybe even the singularity of intelligent machines reproducing themselves out of free will independent of elites, long before the dates in that song.

    Nice thought-provoking essay, Claire.

  7. What did the man say? “They can take my car keys from my cold dead hands”? Is that what he said? – ditto.

  8. “Here’s a simple question; Why would anyone want to do that?”

The people who want to control us, that’s who. As to the why, the Who leads directly to the answer.
