  1. They are not going to be happy when they discover reality.

Good enough for them. They made it happen, and they deserve what they get.

  2. Eloi is pretty danged good analogy,
and that brings up the question of Morlocks.

  3. “…Because they are smarter, better and can — no, really should — tell you what to do and how to do it.”
And when their fantasy bumps up against reality, after my friends Dave and Bubba and Jimmy and Billy’s world comes crashing down, will they know what to do when Dave and Bubba and Jimmy and Billy hunt them with dogs?
A country boy can survive, someone once said, but those effete fruitcakes…..??
BTW, anybody else feel an urge to slap that woman on the right in the pic?
Calling John Clark; John, we have a mission for you….

  4. “… espresso line stretches 45 minutes long …”

Well, if that isn’t roughing it, I sure don’t know what is.

  5. We are not free and it gives me panic attacks.
And they are so petty and spiteful *shudders*

What’s worse than “our betters” in charge? There are millions of zombie NOT “betters” traveling among us and we have to deal with them all in some way or another simply by existing.
    *shudder*sigh*

  6. So we all quit working but receive a universal basic income. I do not get that at all.

  8. Divine right of kings …without Divinity.
So we are going from equality of opportunity, in a society controlled by laws, not men,* to a culture in which un-skilled “Big Thinkers” prey on the “lower” castes through arguably ill-gained information which is crafted into flawed but de-facto truth? (I am sick of them spying on me, taking the results of one shopping search, and turning all my ads into a flawed mirror.)
We need privacy laws that allow anybody to request any company to purge their data on demand. …and a capital offense to not have the request executed.

*…except Hitlery, whose investigation needs to be weakened and timed carefully because she is our superior and that must excuse her of the scrutiny and outcomes that would befall a regular citizen. I guess we’re there already.

  9. Inverse Galt when the meteor hits the next meeting?

Don’t ask me about the cube sats on recent rocket launches.

  10. It’s called enlightened despotism.
Having a king is the way to go, if you have a good and wise king.

    This time, it’ll work!

  11. “We are the ones meant to be the air…”

I’m thinking they should be converted into smoke particles suspended in the air. Is that close enough?

And if the genuine working people all quit working in exchange for a basic income, these limp-wrist little snowflakes will all starve. Takes a lot of actual workers to provide those lavender lattes and foies gras. For that matter, it takes actual workers to provide something as basic as water in the freaking DESERT!!!! (Just channeling my inner Sam Kinison here, Boss.)
