Here’s a self-driving airplane (fly by wire) with no traffic to contend with.
Now, with a computer-controlled, self-driving car in heavy traffic, what could possibly go wrong… click… go wrong… click… go wrong… click…

So, that elimination of traffic deaths goal – set by the same people who want cars to get 54 mpg by 2025?
