  1. How to Send the 7th Largest Economy in The World to Hell on a Bullshitte Train

Claire, you just stumbled upon Moonbeam’s real high speed train. Sad to say, it sounds like this one might actually run.

Better sell out, move out to friendlier pastures and let Kalifornia sink. I believe there’s no saving it until they are isolated and forced to live in their own world with no electricity, no water and no food. They can eat Delta smelts for a little bit, and get just enough wind and solar power to have rolling blackouts just 23 hours/day. Only real, hard, personal consequences will shatter their opium dream.
They shat the bed; let them roll over and enjoy the smell, and for goodness’ sake, don’t let them migrate to your community. Cockroaches bring disease.

  5. I think I could make a killing working as the middleman between the chemical industry and the dairy farmers. Instead of expensive poop composters, let’s feed the cows a daily dose of Alpha Galactosidase. That’s the natural enzyme in Bean-o that breaks down starches and sugars so they don’t produce gas (methane). You can get it in industrial bulk for $500/kilo as a powder 300 times stronger than what’s in the Bean-o pill. Half a million for the chemicals, feed each cow a couple mg per day; half a million cows per kg enzyme. Tada, no cow farts. And the cows might get more oomph from their food since it’s a digestive aid. How about that, cows with more MPG and PZEV, just like the best new cars.

Sure, you always need more product. But the annual outlay is a lot less than a one shot expense in the big millions. And I profit forever, just like a drug pusher.

  7. Californian “Science” seems a bit like “Soviet Science”.

So, “cow-farts” are “mostly methane. OK.
So, what do they think “Cow-poop digesters” make?

I have built a couple over the years and the object of the exercise is to PRODUCE methane that is tapped off as a “fuel”. It burns better than wet cow excrement, for starters.

Of course, when it is “combusted”, it, in the nature of such thing, produces Carbon Dioxide AND water vapour, BOTH allegedly “greenhouse gases”.

So, can anyone tell me exactly what it is that they are trying to do?

  8. ^tell me exactly what it is that they are trying to do?

Punish success from hard work, make everyone dependent on .gov, bask in self-proclaimed virtue while wallowing in the power and perks of office, …
…until other people’s money runs out.
Buy ammo, torch fuel and popcorn futures.

  10. What I can’t figure out is how a trainwreck like CA got to be the ’7th largest economy’.
Here’s a headline from a San Francisco newspaper:
“California’s $400 billion debt worries analysts”

“What I can’t figure out is how a trainwreck like CA got to be the ’7th largest economy’.”

    It’s a bit like;

    Q. “How do you get into small business in California, (or several other places)?”

    A. Start with a large one.

  13. drew458 @5 — does that stuff work on a ruminant? kewl!

    bruce @7 — ThanQ!

ZZMike @10 — Inertia. it started in the 60′s, ramped up thru the Reagan years [local and national] and is just coasting since. Gives one an appreciation for how hard it is to kill an economy. Gives us some time…
