  1. I think CA’s lost the pipper on the whole American federalist constitutional republic thing.

    I don’t think they’ll get to full-Venezuela mode,
but they’re sneakin’ up on an ├╝ber-Illinois-level catastrophe.

  2. Is it any wonder, when one sees the spark of sanity flicker amid the dark ashes of Liberal ideas, that we begin to see the faint smoke signals from people who love California for all that it used to be and could be again, and call for a second spin-off state to be formed? Secede if you can muster the votes, but make your very first law of the new land to outlaw Liberals and Socialists and “do it because I say so” Leftists, and your second law to build a mighty wall to keep that pestilence at bay.

  3. I dunno, DM@1 — as I go about my daily chores, I see a tension building in the proggie/blue areas. Everybody’s surly ‘n’ cranky, or worried and askeert.

Makes buying groceries and pins kinda unpleasant….

Not so much in the Red areas…

But it could be what Venezuelans saw years ago. That’s not to say it will progress *cough* to that — but the whole “it can’t happen here” thing is looking moar and moar fantasy-like…

  4. Tom Steyer is the ratbastard whose money stole the 2013 Virginia election for governor and gave it to carpetbagger and Clinton bagboy Terry McAuliffe.
Perhaps he should put his money where his hypocritical mouth is and fund the Kalifonia health care boondoggle. After the first year, we’d hear no more from him or any of the other liberals whose money was seized to do that.
Other than screams of anguish, that is.

  5. I see they have a few arrows in that quiver.
They’re working on fuedalism, they’ve been working on hydraulic despotism and they’ve had indentured servants in the form of H-1B visas in Silicon Valley and Disney.
Those have the added advantage that if the indentured tick off their masters they are sent back whence they came.

Don’t get me started on guilds.

  6. Dick @4 – that’s very interesting…
wonder how he chose Kleptofornia as his new playground?

  7. Dick @4, thanks for the reminder; I knew there was another reason I hated the rat-bastard prick. (The other reason was that he and others opposed the Keystone pipeline so he could make shit-tons of money hauling oil in railcars.)

  8. Claire – Steyer was in Kleptofornia when he funded a so-called Libertarian in the Virginia election to draw off votes from Ken Cuccinelli, a Tea Party guy. The “Libertarian” was a no-name dweeb whose main platform plank was that if he were governor, Virginia would have its first black First Lady. BFD….
If I were King, no campaign contributions could come from outside the jurisdiction of the office up for election.

Look at the #$%^%$ Dems in Georgia today; tens of millions from outside Georgia spent trying to elect another Commie weasel. That’s not fair to the people who live there and have to live with the election outcome for years.
