  1. Nichols is very likely lying. Or, taking Brown wildly out of context. Last, but not least, Brown said this during one of his “spells.”

    All of the above?

  2. First, we’re gonna put all the power plants to generate the ‘lectricity for the electric cars IN California.

Then we’re gonna watch all the Hollywood types sweat and bitch and moan when their electric limos run a mere 15 miles with the AC on and then stop dead on a crowded expressway, tying up traffic even more.

Then we’ll watch all the San Fran elites shiver and bitch when their electric limos only go 12 miles with the heat on and stop dead on some highway nowhere near where they were going.

Then we’re going to watch all the elites bitch and moan when they have to hire a Transportation Range Calculation consultant to plan their goings out and comings in forevermore.

Then we deplorables are gonna laugh our asses off in the schadenfreude.

  3. This is a form of rationing for behavior control.
A free market does it by supply-demand price.
Authoritarians do it by edict. American socialists are fond of hiding their edicts as mandated costs (taxes, specifications, etc.) masquerading as higher prices that people are trained to expect.
As usual, an authoritarian’s goal is not so much the money as the behavior control.
A politician’s goal is always opportunity for corruption.

Besides, they have a train to delay payin’ for until they’re out of office.

  5. ^ That pole is “inshallah” at work.

“Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.”

  7. I can imagine everyone plugging in their cars for a recharge just as the rolling blackouts hit.

  8. Did (the rumored syphilitic) governor or sophomoric chairperson mention just how many neighboring states will have to be paved over with solar panels or plant wind farms to feed 38+ million vehicles for Cali? Just how do they propose to convince some crabby old f*rt retiree in rural AZ that this would be a good idea?

Or maybe they can tweak the Cali economy so folks can work at home and have to go no farther than the mailbox to collect their government Equalizer Payment.

  9. And what about the commuters? Many travel over 60 miles one way every day. Those leedle toy cars won’t do that.

You’re forgetting about bullet trains. They’re going to build bullet trains everywhere you need to go.

As if such restriction would apply to them. No such rules are for those who can’t afford to purchase a special permit, pay a certian tax, or whatever other loop whole the create for themselves. Such a loop whole will be too expensive for the average person, but chump change for those in entertainment or politics. The average (successful) actor or political campaign can afford to pay $5000-$10,000 (if not more) per automobile to drive a gas powered vehicle; whats an extra $5000-$10,000 when you are already pay $70,000+ for your car.

  12. I’m really surprised that you didn’t mention that state officials get free cars and free gasoline, so this tax increase won’t affect them at all.
Some animals are more equal than others, after all.
